About the Name

Have you ever noticed the sunlight through the trees? For the last decade, spotting the filtered rays on the forest floor has held a special meaning for me and as a therapist--the metaphors are endless. I believe the metaphor of sunlight filtering through the trees can be likened to the therapeutic healing process. In therapy, the sunlight represents insight, understanding, and clarity that gradually illuminates the path of self-discovery. The trees symbolize the layers of one's thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

As therapy progresses, the therapist (guide) helps navigate through these layers, much like walking through a forest. The sunlight, or newfound awareness, reveals previously hidden aspects of oneself and can provide a sense of direction. It invites warmth and a renewed perspective, allowing us to see our challenges in a different light and fostering growth. So, just as sunlight can transform a forest, therapy has the same potential to bring transformative change, providing the emotional nourishment needed for healing and personal development.

This metaphor is so powerful and captures the essence of my style and approach to guiding my clients on their therapeutic journey, where understanding and self-discovery gradually dispel the shadows of uncertainty and pain.
